Level 5: Red Sash Modules
- Wudang Short Hand Form: Step Up Seven Stars Sq/R
- Refines explosive release, adaptive weight-shifting, and structural precision. Trains Fa Jin timing, whole-body coordination, and the seamless union of intent, breath and technique.
- Health Without Pills 9 & 10
- Routine 9: Breath-led restorative sequence to strengthen lung capacity, calm and regulate the autonomic nervous system, and support recovery cycles.
- Routine 10: Connective-tissue and joint-nourishing routine to build fascial resilience, improve mobility, and sustain long-term vitality.
- Focus on: Health as the foundation of durable power, respiratory strength, nervous-system regulation, recovery, and connective-tissue integrity.
- Chi Kung Training:
- Advanced Internal Statics x5:Five advanced static postures designed to cultivate tendon-driven power, fascia activation, structural alignment and the ability to convert stillness into directed force.
- Cobra L/R: Progressive left/right spinal and hip opening practice that develops elastic recoil, coiling/uncoiling dynamics and integrated spinal mobility.
- Focus on:Internal strength, tendon and fascia conditioning, breath-integration and energy economy for resilient, efficient movement.
- Tai Chi Pushing Hands Drills
- Four Winds + Partner with eyes closed: Sensitivity and timing drill that trains non-visual contact awareness, sticking, yielding and instinctive response under blind conditions.
- Mirengai + Partner:Nine-palaces footwork practiced with partner; develops directional mobility, angulation, entry/exit patterns and strategic positioning.
- Reeling Silk with Partner:Principles, Philosophies & Strategies
- Applied spiralling mechanics for redirecting force, generating rotational power, and transforming opposition into leverage; includes tactical partner drills and strategy work.
- Integration of pushing hands principles of yielding, sticking, adhering, following, and neutralising.
6. Applied principles of Pushing Hands philosophy
- Sensitivity over strength; timing over force; intention-led responses; transformation of incoming energy rather than meeting it with opposition.
- Students apply these principles across structured drills and freer exchanges to refine timing, sensitivity and safe application.
- Final Practical Assessment & Integration
- Demonstration of form, partner drills, and self-defence principles.
- Evidence of integration between movement, structure, energy, and awareness.
