ABOUT THE

Ptah khi Principal

Sifu Sahu, is officially recognised and certified to teach Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Nei Kung, Nei Dan, and internal martial arts in the UK and internationally. He provides both martial arts training and health-focused instruction, while upholding nationally recognised standards for safety, quality, and the guidance of coaches and instructors.

His journey in internal arts began in 2004 with Chi Kung and expanded in 2007 through Tai Chi training under Grand Master Amun Ka El. In 2015, he became Principal and Head Coach of the Ptah Khi School, where he has since guided students from foundational practice to 1st degree black sash level, and beyond, upholding standards of discipline, integrity, and excellence.

Sifu Sahu is a registered Commercial Instructor with the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA), an Instructor Member of the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain (TCUGB), and an accredited MCIMSPA Tai Chi for Health & Well-Being

Practitioner with the Chartered Management Institute for Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). These credentials reflect nationally recognised standards of professionalism, safeguarding, and high-quality instruction, demonstrating his commitment to excellence in teaching and promoting the safe practice of Tai Chi and internal martial arts.

Sifu Sahu has also served as a judge at the BCCMA National Championships in 2023, overseeing Tai Chi Chuan, Xing Yi Quan, Bagua Zhang, and Weapons Forms, and again in 2025 as an official Tui Shou Judge. Under his leadership, the Ptah Khi School has achieved multiple medals, including golds at national competitions.

His teachings blend Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Nei Kung, Nei Dan, and holistic therapies to support recovery, functional improvement, and wellbeing for all practitioners.

Black Sash/Belt Accreditation Program

The Ptah Khi Black Belt Accreditation Program is a complete Level 1–10 Tai Chi Chuan pathway, designed to meet nationally recognised UK standards for professional Tai Chi instruction. This comprehensive program integrates Tai Chi, Chi Kung, and Nei Kung and Nei Dan training with teaching methodology, internal principles, and structured skill development from foundation to advanced levels.

Upon successful completion, graduates become Instructor Members of the BCCMA, or Commercial Instructor status, enabling them to teach Tai Chi professionally anywhere in the UK. Students can register with CIMSPA as Tai Chi practitioners, and join the Tai Chi Union for Great Britain.

This pathway provides a clear and structured route to fully recognised Tai Chi teaching status, equipping graduates with the skills, confidence, and accreditation opportunities needed to teach safely, professionally, and effectively.

Chi Kung instructor Course (Online)

Begin your journey into authentic internal training with the Chi Kung Instructor Course, designed for anyone wishing to become a certified Chi Kung instructor. This course guides you through three progressive levels of internal cultivation while developing the practical teaching skills needed to confidently lead classes. You will explore the Three Treasures, Jing, Chi, and Shen, refine energy, balance emotional states, and deepen awareness.

Beyond personal practice, you will learn how to create your own sequences, observe and correct students safely, adapt techniques for different abilities, and enhance your teaching presence. Students start as trainee instructors or facilitators, and after the required practice, assessment, and evaluation, typically over a period of five years, they become eligible to register as full instructors with the BCCMA, opening the path to professional teaching and national recognition.

For almost a year, Sahu has helped me to regain strength and stability in my knee after bad injury. The practice of Chi Gong and more internal arts have also helped to settle my mind. It has also helped me to better deal with panic attacks through focused breathing practices and meditations.

There is a good balance between Tai Chi for practical application, and Tai Chi for mental well being, and a very broad course with a manual, online portal and belt grading system for those who wish to learn the discipline as a way of life. There is a strong community of students of different backgrounds and levels willing to help eachother improve.

Practice outside of class is encouraged, and after a few weeks it will eventually become a habit.

This is an excellent school for traditional martial arts. It has a deep wealth of wisdom and a very old lineage of authentic Wudang Taiji chuan with a very robust hand form that is an absolute gem for anyone, beginner to advanced practitioners and even people that have already done martial arts for decades. Speaking from experience it's rare to find a real traditional school with such attention to detail in their hand form. Not to mention a playful community and spirit of students that absolutely thrive in national competitions taking home many achievements.

My body issues is l have sciatica in both of my posterior. And l have hip flexor problems one side of my body is stronger than the other. Learning this form of discipline has improved my hip flexor mobility and my overall flexibility in leaps and bounds. The ba duan jin movement we practice in class uses various movements that work on various internal organs in the body to support a healthy body. l practice ba duan jin on a regular basis for my fitness journey.

I've been attending the Ptah Khi School for many years. I am proud to say that that I'm part Tai Chi community. Over the years I have benefited greatly from chief instructor Sahu guidance. Other students are so supportive. Great school to attend!!!!
