FOR YOGA & PILATES PRACTITIONERS

Same Body, Different Language

If you already practice yoga or Pilates, internal arts won’t feel foreign, it’ll feel like the missing piece. Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung train the same body awareness, from a different tradition.

WHY IT COMPLEMENTS YOUR PRACTICE

What transfers directly?

Chi Kung’s breath practice deepens the same regulation work you already do in yoga’s pranayama.

Tai Chi’s stances build the same rooted stability as Pilates’ core control, approached through weight and structure instead of isolation.

If you’re drawn to flow sequences, Tai Chi’s continuous form will feel immediately familiar.

Like yoga, this isn’t a program you finish, it’s a practice that keeps deepening for as long as you keep showing up.

IN YOUR OWN TERMS

What You Already Know, Renamed

You’ve already trained the foundations you just know them by different names. Here’s how your existing practice maps onto the Ptah Khi system.

None of this asks you to unlearn what you know. It gives your existing practice a deeper structure and a next step.

Additional Connections
Ujjayi / controlled breath | Nei Dan breathing

Internal breath training that regulates the nervous system

Flow sequences (vinyasa) | silk-reeling (Chan Si Jin)

Continuous, spiralling movement rooted in connected joint motion

Intention / mindful movement (Yi)

The mental focus that directs where your energy and effort go

Bandhas / energy locks | Jing, Chi, Shen (Three Treasures)

The three layers you’re already working with essence, energy, spirit

A Note for Pilates Practitioners

Ptah Khi takes that same discipline and adds an internal dimension where Pilates trains the powerhouse for control, we train the Dan Tian for power generation itself. Where Pilates asks for controlled breath through movement, Nei Dan breathing asks you to use breath to regulate the nervous system directly. It’s the same rigour, applied to what’s underneath the muscle.
