The cycle begins in the hot, dry winds of summer. Fire, though essential for warmth and growth, can also burn too fiercely. Fire represents the overactive energy that can burn through everything in its path, leaving chaos and destruction in its wake.
When the sun beats down too fiercely and the winds grow too hot, the trees of the grove begin to feel the strain. Their branches, once lush and full of life, start to wither. The earth beneath their roots dries up, and even the river that flows through the land begins to dwindle. The uncontrolled spread of fire in this instance threatens to overwhelm the grove and the entire forest.
Fire, in this cycle, is the agent that must be contained. It is powerful and undeniable, but if not controlled, it can consume too much. It is here that the Metal element steps in.
