PRACTITIONER ZONE

Your Practice, Deepened

The Practitioner Zone is the dedicated learning space for students of Ptah Khi School who are ready to deepen their Tai Chi and Chi Kung practice. Here you’ll find advanced training, grading resources, instructor development, exclusive learning materials, and a supportive practitioner community. Whether you’re progressing through the sash grading system, working towards Chi Kung Instructor Certification, or continuing your journey in the internal arts, the Practitioner Zone provides the guidance, structure, and resources to help you develop your knowledge, skill, and lifelong practice.

New here? Registration takes a few minutes.

Registering as a Practitioner uses the same Ptah Khi account system as general enrolment, there’s no separate sign-up. Once registered, practitioner-level content and community access unlock automatically as you progress in your training.

 WHAT’S INSIDE

Built for Committed Practitioners

Once inside, you’ll find everything that supports the next stage of your training.

Sash-level material beyond the foundation pathway, including weapons and self-defence forms. Beyond the core curriculum, practitioners gain access to deeper internal work, refined Nei Dan practices, advanced Chan Si Jin (silk-reeling) drills, and applications work that isn’t taught in open classes. Sessions are smaller and paced around where you actually are in your practice, not a fixed syllabus.

Structured progression toward Chi Kung Instructor Certification, with grading and syllabus access. For practitioners considering teaching, this is the structured route from student to instructor developed from Dan Docherty lineage, originally created by Michael Jacques. It covers teaching methodology, class management, and the internal arts knowledge required to hold a class safely and authentically, not just perform the forms yourself

Connect with fellow practitioners across the in-person and online tracks. A closer circle of training partners at a similar level, for sharing progress, arranging extra practice sessions, and getting feedback outside of regular class time. This is where most of the informal mentorship happens, often more than in the class itself.

Clear criteria for every level, so you always know what’s next. Our belt-level Black Sash pathway maps out exactly what’s expected at each stage, from foundational stances through to advanced internal skill. Practitioners can see where they currently sit, what’s next, and what a grading assessment actually involves before they take one.
