Health & Longevity Programme

A 12-Week Internal Cultivation System for Vitality, Stress Recovery and Lasting Wellbeing

Designed for adults who want to feel well again — not through effort or endurance, but through the systematic restoration of energy, breath and internal alignment. Drawing on Tai Chi, Chi Kung (Qigong), Nei Kung (Nei gong) and breathwork, this programme gives you the tools to reclaim your health on your own terms.

THE PROGRAMME

Four pillars. One integrated system.

The Health & Longevity Programme is not a collection of exercises. It is a structured framework for recalibrating the body and restoring inner equilibrium — drawing on the full depth of the Ptah Khi system.

Tai Chi Chuan

The moving meditation at the heart of the programme. Tai Chi builds structure, balance, and the internal connection between breath and movement — cultivating a body that is relaxed yet fully alive.

  • Eight Powers Sequence

  • Rooting and structural alignment

  • Moving from the Dantien

  • Stress reduction and mental clarity

Chi Kung

The direct cultivation of life-force energy. Chi Kung (Qigong) practices improve circulation, regulate the nervous system, and develop awareness of the body’s internal landscape — restoring what modern life depletes.

  • Shen Kung: spirit cultivation

  • Bone Marrow Washing

  • Organ-strengthening routines

  • Energy channel clearing

Breathwork

Breath is the bridge between the voluntary and involuntary. Through structured breathwork — including natural abdominal breathing and the Backflow Method — students learn to influence their own physiology directly.

  • Vagus nerve activation

  • Diaphragmatic and Reverse Breathing

  • Cerebrospinal fluid stimulation

  • Sleep and Recovery Protocols

Internal Alignment

The deepest layer of the programme. Internal alignment brings body, breath, and mind into coherence — developing the kind of quiet inner steadiness that supports not just health, but lasting presence.

  • The creative mind and intention, the spark of innovation.

  • Meditational movement sequences

  • Mindfulness integration

  • Ptah Khi five-layer framework

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

Structured progression. At your pace.

The Health & Longevity Programme is delivered by CIMSPA/MCIMSPA-accredited instructors under the Ptah Khi School — recognised by the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA) and Tai Chi Union for Great Britain (TCUGB).

Foundation

Establish grounding in posture, natural breathing, and the principles of internal movement. Introduce the first Tai Chi sequences and basic Chi Kung routines. Develop body awareness from the ground up.

Cultivation

Deepen Chi Kung practice with Jing Kung and Bone Marrow Washing. Introduce the concept of the Three Treasures and begin working with energy flow and awareness in daily life.

Integration

Connect physical practice with breathwork and internal cultivation. Begin the Shen Kung practices. Learn how to apply the programme’s tools to sleep, stress, and recovery.

Mastery & Continuity

Consolidate everything learned into a coherent daily practice. Refine the Eight Power Sequence, deepen Nei Dan awareness, and establish the internal habits that sustain health for life. Students leave this phase with a personal cultivation protocol — not a programme they’ve completed, but a practice they now own.

Led by Sifu Sahu Tao Shen

Head principal and Coach of Ptah Khi School and a practitioner of 25 years in the Wudang internal arts tradition under Grand Master Amun Ka El. Sifu Sahu holds CIMSPA/MCIMSPA accreditation and has trained students across five continents. The Health & Longevity Programme distils two and a half decades of teaching into a structured, accessible system for lasting wellbeing.

Clients & Partners

For those who want to feel well again.

The Health & Longevity Programme welcomes all levels of experience. What it requires is commitment — the willingness to show up, practise, and let the internal arts do their work.

Those Managing Chronic Conditions

People living with pain, fatigue, anxiety, or conditions like arthritis, hypertension, or respiratory issues who want a natural, evidence-informed movement-based approach.

Adults 40+

Those looking to maintain vitality, balance, and mental sharpness as they age — seeking practices grounded in centuries of refinement rather than short-term fitness trends.

Practitioners Seeking Depth

Existing yoga, meditation, or movement practitioners who sense there is a deeper layer of internal cultivation available to them and want to explore it systematically.

Anyone Under Pressure

Professionals, carers, or anyone whose energy has been depleted by sustained stress and who wants tools grounded in internal wisdom to restore balance and presence.

STUDENT EXPERIENCES
Real Experiences From Our Community

The following reflections are from members of the Ptah Khi School community who have experienced the benefits of Tai Chi, Chi Kung, breathwork, meditation, and internal cultivation practices. While each person’s journey is unique, these experiences reflect the principles that form the foundation of the Health & Longevity Programme

“For almost a year, Sahu has supported my journey in rebuilding strength, stability, and confidence after a knee injury. Through Chi Kung, focused breathing, and meditation practices, I have also experienced greater calmness and improved ability to manage moments of stress and anxiety.”

Camilo Queipo · Ptah Khi School Student

“This practice has transformed not only how I move, but how I understand my body, my mind, and my place in the world. Through movement, breathing, and meditation, I have developed greater balance, awareness, and a deeper connection with myself.”

Audrey Adams
Ptah Khi School Student

“Since joining Ptah Khi, I have noticed positive changes in both my mental and physical wellbeing. The practice has helped me experience less stress, improved focus, better balance, and a greater sense of overall wellbeing in my daily life.”

For almost a year, Sahu has helped me to regain strength and stability in my knee after bad injury. The practice of Chi Gong and more internal arts have also helped to settle my mind. It has also helped me to better deal with panic attacks through focused breathing practices and meditations.

There is a good balance between Tai Chi for practical application, and Tai Chi for mental well being, and a very broad course with a manual, online portal and belt grading system for those who wish to learn the discipline as a way of life. There is a strong community of students of different backgrounds and levels willing to help eachother improve.

Practice outside of class is encouraged, and after a few weeks it will eventually become a habit.

Much gratitude to Ptah Khi School

The instructor Sahu has a vast knowledge of the body and it’s movements. He takes time to explore one’s ability and guides the students to understand themselves and nuture their energy and strength. Physical skills are enhanced for all ages, breathing techniques for better focus along with self defense. Looking for a Tai Chi class the community is very supportive and we learn from each other with Sahu and his team.

This Tai Chi school has exceeded my expectations in every possible way. What makes it so special is how deeply holistic the practice is — seamlessly combining Qi Gong, martial arts, meditation, and a profound understanding of human physiology.

It has transformed not only how I move, but how I understand my body, my mind, and my place in the world.

Physically, I’ve developed greater agility, flexibility, balance, and awareness of my own capabilities in a way that feels both empowering alongside my previous martial arts training but also gentle.

The learning goes far beyond technique; it builds a true relationship with the body, grounded in understanding rather than force.

Spiritually, the practice has been truly life-affirming. Through meditation, breath, and an awareness of energy, I’ve learned to ground myself, to see the bigger picture, and to feel more connected — not just to myself, but to the people and world around me. There is a depth here that invites reflection, presence, and a sense of meaning that extends well beyond the class itself.

Emotionally, this school has become a vital point of regulation in my week — a genuine pause and safety brake when life, work, and health can feel overwhelming. It offers a rare space simply to be: to slow down, reflect, and share space with others who are on their own journeys of discovery. Whether in the middle or at the end of the week, it consistently brings a sense of calm, balance, and peace that I carry with me long after the session ends.

Sahu is an exceptional teacher and guide on this journey. He brings together his knowledge of physiotherapy and how the body truly works with the ancient wisdom of Tai Chi and Qi Gong, enriched by a deep spiritual awareness informed by other Asian traditions.

The result is something genuinely special — a practice that is intelligent, compassionate, and deeply human. Week by week and month by month, it continues to support my growth on every level, and I am profoundly grateful to be part of it.

I’ve had a really great experience training at Ptah Khi for the last three months. The instructors clearly know their art, and have a deep understanding of Tai Chi, but they’re also very patient, welcoming, and easy to learn from. You never feel rushed or out of place, no matter your level. Sahu and his team really take good care to understand their students, and help them improve.
The vibe is relaxed and friendly, and the community is genuinely supportive. Everyone’s approachable, which makes training enjoyable and motivating.
I’ve also noticed real positive changes in both my mental and physical health since starting — less stress, better focus, improved balance, and just feeling better overall. It’s been a really positive addition to my routine.
Highly recommend if you’re looking for proper Tai Chi in a welcoming environment.

This is an excellent school for traditional martial arts. It has a deep wealth of wisdom and a very old lineage of authentic Wudang Taiji chuan with a very robust hand form that is an absolute gem for anyone, beginner to advanced practitioners and even people that have already done martial arts for decades. Speaking from experience it's rare to find a real traditional school with such attention to detail in their hand form. Not to mention a playful community and spirit of students that absolutely thrive in national competitions taking home many achievements.

My children have been attending Tai Chi for several years, and this has helped increase their focus, mental health and sense of self. They have had opportunities to lead sections of the class and see their progress over time. It has supported their confidence in self-defence but also learn the history of the art and how to apply the principles in their everyday life.

One definition of stress is that it’s a mis balance of the PERCEIVED demands of a situation and your PERCEIVED ability to cope. Tai Chi has calmed me down and given me focus so that adverse situations are no longer so dramatic and breathing has helped me more accurate realise my talents. Plus classes are fun and v social !
