I hope to extend and expand the teachings and knowledge of Wudang Tai Chi Chuan to my home land of Jamaica and bring awareness to one’s ability to heal the mind, and the body. My connection to the Ptah Khi School is deeply rooted in the belief that all is one and everything is one. I aim to teach in a way that inspires others to find harmony within themselves and with the world, embracing their journey with an inner smile and the courage to realise their full potential.
Learn More About Sifu Oshauna
I first discovered the beauty of Tai Chi in 2016, after venturing through the NHS in search of ways to help with my recovery from a sporting injury. What began as a way to rebuild my physical strength, turned into a transformative journey of self-discovery and personal growth. With my background and love of sports, I was drawn to the martial side of Tai Chi Chuan, whilst my curiosity and openness, propelled me towards the internal practices of Chi Kung.
I was fortunate to have the guidance of my teacher and mentor, Sifu Sahu, as I immersed myself into understanding the interconnection between the body, the mind and the many emotions we experience. This exploration inspired me to pursue a level 3 certification in Sports Massage Therapy, and combining my knowledge of movement and recovery to help others. I worked towards developing a teaching style that reflects this unique blend of expertise, offering students a holistic approach that supports both physical and emotional well-being.
Through the years, I had the privilege of assisting my teacher during classes, demonstrations, health-focused events and sharing my passion through presentations, radio interviews, and workshops, which have shaped my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. In summer of 2023, I achieved my proudest milestone of earning 1st Degree Black Sash in Wudang Tai Chi Chuan and becoming a certified instructor with the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts.
The greatest lesson Tai Chi has taught me, is the power of mastering my emotions. Emotions, when channelled effectively, can drive us to exceed our own expectations. This philosophy continues to inspire my teaching and personal practices.
