About Course

Welcome to Yellow Belt / Sash Level 2 of the Black Belt Programme, is delivered by instructors who are fully accredited by the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA) and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), ensuring your practice aligns with the highest professional and ethical standards. This guarantees that every aspect of your training, from movement mechanics to teaching practice, upholds the highest standards of excellence, safety, and authenticity.

At this level, the practitioner makes their first true elevation beyond the White Sash foundation, entering a stage where Tai Chi evolves from external shapes and steps into an integrated art of breath, intention, and internal power. Yellow Sash training is where awareness transforms into embodiment. Movements cease to be mere techniques and instead become living expressions of energy, structure, and flow. Each step, posture, and breath becomes an opportunity to explore the subtle dialogue between stillness and motion, softness and strength, yielding and assertion.

At this level, students begin to explore internal power (Nei Jin), learning to generate force that is rooted, connected, and effortless rather than muscular or forced. You will also cultivate adaptability, discovering how to yield without collapsing, redirect without resistance, and remain centred amidst changing conditions.

The Yellow Sash opens the door to experiencing Tai Chi not only as a martial discipline, but also as a path of meditation, healing, and self-mastery. It is here that practice begins to shape the inner landscape: calming the mind, balancing the emotions, and awakening the body’s natural capacity for vitality and self-healing. Through form, Chi Kung, and foundational drills, students come to recognise that Tai Chi is more than movement, it is a way of aligning with life’s deeper currents.
